Projects – Counselling & Monitoring
I have been acquainted with the subject of Family Midwifery and Early Prevention in municipal structures for more than 20 years. My aim is that the corresponding low-threshold support structures for families become implemented. The focus of my professional activity is the interdisciplinary approach as the ideal way for health promotion of vulnerable mothers (parents) and children.
Since 1992, I performed pioneering work in this field at one of Germany's first Early Prevention projects in Hagen (NRW). In collaboration with the city's interdisciplinary partners we implemented the concept, which was predefined by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, with the objective of improving the situation of newborn babies in challenging social environments and reducing infant mortality.
From 2008 to 2011 I initiated and implementation the "Prenatal Prevention Project of Bochum" as a project coordinator of the city Bochum. My team consisted of 2 Midwives and 4 Pediatric Nurses. At present the city of Bochum employs 4 Family Midwives and 2 Pediatric Nurses.
Since 2012 I have been working as the project coordinator and manager of a team of 3 Family Midwives responsible for Mülheim's Early Prevention project "For a good start into life".
